Phone Call Response.

Did you just get a phone call from the camp administrators? That means that you haven't completed PHASE II REGISTRATION for this year's camp.

Camp Overview.

Greetings Youth Riders and Parents of Youth Riders!

Thank you for your interest in the ODS/USDF Region Six Youth Dressage Overnight Camp, hosted by DevonWood Equestrian Centre from July 5th - 7th. Below you will find more information regarding the camp's structure and the registration form. Please read this section carefully!

Because of the current EHV outbreak, this year’s camp is tentatively scheduled for the 5th-7th of July. In the event that we have to cancel the camp, we will be hosting an un-mounted educational event either on the date of the event or at a later time. Everyone who registers will be notified via email in the event of a cancellation.

To answer a few frequently asked questions, the minimum age limit for the camp is 8 and the maximum age limit is 21. Participants will be required to stay overnight at DevonWood Equestrian Centre from when they arrive at DevonWood on Friday until their departure on Sunday. The price of the camp will be $200. Youth members may attend the camp without a horse for $80.00. This price includes food, stabling, covers the cost of hiring a licensed EMT to handle First Aid, and several other necessary expenditures to ensure that the camp is a safe and comfortable environment for all those in attendance!

In an effort to minimize the costs of attending this camp, all of the instructors and lecturers have generously donated their travel fees, time for the weekend and are being housed by friends of the camp. Our instructors this year include: Nicki Grandia, Morgan Barrows, Jessica Rattner, Natalie Perry, Meredith Crawford, and Heather Oleson. DevonWood Equestrian Centre has also donated the use of their facility and staff for the weekend.

In an effort to conserve paper, the registration process will be done entirely via the web and email. Registration for this camp will be first come first serve. We are currently able to accept 70 riders for the camp. Our planned "opening date" for camp registration is June 2nd and the "closing date" will be June 15th. We are also currently gathering a list of lecturers. In the event that they have handouts to accompany their lectures, we may email these in advance for you to print out and bring to camp.

After you submit the registration form, we will send you a confirmation email. Once we have all the participants registered, we will send an email with further instructions regarding payment, liability waivers, and the proof of vaccination. We will also be emailing a suggested packing list, directions, contact information for the on-call vet and farrier. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Rattner directly at jessica.rattner@devonwoodec.com.
